Reverse circulation drilling typically uses double-walled drill pipes, with the drilling power provided by high-pressure gas. The high-pressure gas enters the impactor through the gap between the outer and inner pipes, causing the impactor to strike the drill bit and break the rock formation. The broken rock is collected into the gas holes on the face of the drill bit, and then collected as rock samples through the sample collection tube and the inner pipe of the drill rod.
